Synopsis
Nothing to Lose is a darkly comedic audio drama about a cancer support group that decides to risk it all to leave their loved ones with something to remember them by while also having a little fun and rediscovering themselves on the way.
🔴 Tommy ‘Twinkle Toes’ Abbott is a local gangster and notorious bank robber. When he joins the Speak Out About Cancer support group in the village hall it becomes immediately apparent that he is not welcome in the group’s ‘circle of trust’.
🔴 Flora, a flamboyant actor and yoga instructor in her mid-fifties, clearly has some ‘history’ with Tommy.
🔴 Sam, a young wannabe musician, is put out by this new father figure coming into his life, especially as his own dad has been a no-show
🔴 Derrick, a 75-year-old retired factory worker with late-stage prostate cancer, struggles to keep up with the conversation amid his frequent visits to the loo.
🔴 Michael, the benevolent volunteer group leader, is too busy making teas when Tommy asks the group: “What do you wish you had? If you could leave anything to anyone, what would it be?”
Tommy wants one final heist, the ultimate swansong, and he’s got it all planned out: rob the bank on the High Street. After all, they are all serving life sentences with their terminal diagnoses and have nothing to lose.
Will they get away with it? Or will their time run out?
