On Monday evening #thelofttheatrecompany Leamington took the sensible but emotional decision to close until further notice,in an attempt to assist theatremakers and the public with #socialdistancing. #anneboleyn is therefore postponed until further notice. This has been tricky to digest.... absolutely the right decision as the cast,crew and myself have been worrying about potentially carrying infections and spreading them between us. On a personal note this is the 2nd play in 6mths I have been directing that has been postponed due to unforseeable circumstances (#thethrilloflove Nov 2019 and flooded theatre). My cast and crew are an amazing team...talented & driven...and handled my insatiable appetite for great theatre, commitment and fulfilling rehearsal time perfectly and with enthusiasm! We're proud to be supporting 'Making Sense of Motherhood' hosted by Oxford Brookes University. Tara will be performing extracts in a scripted reading of Sue Bevans' award-winning play 'Mum's The Word'. It deals with tough themes - amongst them Mothers who leave...the stigma and judgement attached to that word 'leave' - which carries myriad inferences; but also with the theme of overwhelm....loneliness and 'imposter syndrome' - 'Everyone else is doing it....so why can't I?'.
